Community calendar:

Sunday, Oct. 4:  Friends of Rippey will meet on at 6:30 pm in the community room. Some items to be discussed will include  thinking about procuring funding from the Greene County Community Foundation as the grants have to be submitted in February.  Calendar Day will be held Dec. 5. If we follow our past history we will have the breakfast this day. Keith Devilbiss will provide an update regarding the Rippey School Memorial. Other projects and items may be discussed also, as the group hasn’t met for a while.

This group had their first meeting April 22, 2001, with a few interested people. News in and around Rippey:

On Sunday, Sept. 27, Jean Borgeson visited with her aunt Virginia Siglin, who is currently in the skilled care unit of Legacy Pointe in Waukee. Virginia fell a few weeks ago and underwent a partial hip replacement. Jean also visited with Pam Sanders, who lives in one of the Legacy Pointe town homes that surround the complex that Virginia is in. The women had a nice visit.
